Eyelash Extensions Aftercare
A fresh, full set of eyelash extensions can change your life!
You’ll probably find yourself addicted after your first set, so it’s never too early to learn how to look after them.
Aftercare is just important as having your lashes applied by a proffesional.
Please follow the below instructions to maximise the retention of your new lashes.
Avoid Moisture
Stay away from all saunas, steam rooms and sun bed within the first 48hrs of your appointment.
Wash Lashes Daily
You MUST cleanse your lashes daily with an approved cleaner (a build up of natural oils and make up can get stuck in your lash line causing infections such as blepharitis).
After showering pat lashes dry gently with a non fibre material (kitchen roll), brush when damp to set back in place.
Avoid Oil Around Lashes
DO NOT apply cleansers, moisturisers or make up remover containing oil, as it will dissolve the glue.
Only use water based make up & make up remover.
Avoid Touching/Rubbing Lashes
Touching eyelash extensions or rubbing eyes can be a totally sub-conscious tendency. You can even rub your eyes in your sleep. Doing so will cause your lash extensions to prematurely fall out. The oils or lotions from your hands will break down the adhesive.
Touching, pulling at your lashes may damage your natural lashes as well as ruin your fresh set.
Avoid Sleeping on Lashes
Sleeping on your back is the best way to prevent your extensions from being damaged during the night. The more the lashes touch your pillow, the more likely it’s going to get tugged off.
Avoid Extreme Heat
Do not stick your head in the oven when baking! It can singe your extensions! Turn your head away from the oven when putting anything in or pulling anything out.
Be Gentle
Do not rub or pull on your eyelash extensions.
Do not use Eyelash Curlers.
Brush
Brush your lashes daily to keep them fluffy.
Eyeliner and mascara for eyelash extensions
Please don’t use eyeliner and mascara! The product gets caught between lashes and build up. This, in turn, becomes much harder to clean and may lead to premature lash loss and affect your eye health!
